Suburban Chicago-native pop-rockers Lucky Boys Confusion will bring their
fifth annual installment of Songs From a Scene, a series of concerts designed
to showcase local, often upcoming music talent with each night headlined by
Lucky Boys Confusion. Lucky Boys Confusion will headline both nights at Chicago’s
Metro on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.
Lucky Boys Confusion--which includes Kaustubh “Stubhy” Pandav
(vocals), Adam Krier and Joe Sell (guitars), Jason Schultejann (bass) and
Ryan Fergus (drums)--has earned a rabid local following behind the hit song
“Dumb Pop Song,” its penchant for touring relentlessly and their
unique blend of pop, rock, and raggae.
The success of Lucky Boys Confusion songs like “Dumb Pop Song”
and “Fred Astaire” created by Chicago radio, including Q101, helped
spread the LBC word prompting the band to accept a major label record deal
with Elektra. The two hits appeared on their major label debut, 2001’s
“Throwing the Game.”
LBC released “Commitment” in 2003, which was met with less success
than its predecessor, but was received well by the band’s fan base.
“Commitment” marked the final album the band released under the
Elektra umbrella.
Lucky Boys Confusion has since released “The Red Tape Outtakes (Demos
and Heartbreaks)” independently in August of 2005 and continues to tour
like there’s no tomorrow.
Metro is at 3730 N. Clark St. in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood.
The Dec. 29 show is 18+ while the Dec. 30 date is an all-ages show. Tickets
for each show are listed for $17.50 each. Over the course of both nights other
local bands like Gas Can Pickup, Inept, Madina Lake, Rebel Angels, Treaty
of Paris, and Witroy are also scheduled to perform. For more on Lucky Boys
