Nine Inch Nails Returns to Play FMB Amphitheatre
By Randy J. Klodz
Veteran hard-rock band Nine Inch Nails has toured the world on countless occasions, but Trent Reznor and crew hasn’t performed in Chicago since a pair of sold-out shows at Congress Theatre in May of 2005. Nine Inch Nails returns to Tinley Park’s First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on July 1.
Nine Inch Nails—which includes Reznor (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Aaron North (guitar), Jeordie White (bass), Josh Freese (drums) and Alessandro Cortini (keyboards)—is back on the road in support of its latest album “With Teeth.”
From “With Teeth,” singles that have been popular on radio include “Every Day Is Exactly the Same,” “The Hand That Feeds” and “Only.”
Longtime fans of Nine Inch Nails enjoy classic songs like “Closer,” “Down In It,” “Head Like a Hole,” “Hurt,” and “Piggy” from the band’s catalog that spans back to 1989, with the band’s clever blend of alternative, industrial, and hard-rock leading the charge.
While Nine Inch Nails has become known as one of the best performing hard-rock bands in history, it has also earned its share of Grammy nominations and the attention of other award organizations. Most recently, “The Hand That Feeds” earned a nomination in the 2006 Grammy Awards.
First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre is at 19100 S. Ridgeland Ave. in south-suburban Tinley Park. Tickets for this all-ages show are listed from $47.50 to $20 each with showtime slated for 7 p.m. Fellow hard-rock band Bauhaus is also scheduled to perform.
