San Diego is the perfect setting for a surfer. But it’s also home
to young, female, singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman even if surfing is her
first passion in life. As her debut album “Twentythree” hit stores
on Aug. 2, Tristan Prettyman has established herself as a force to be reckoned
with. For those fans interested in getting a glimpse of her live show, Tristan
Prettyman will perform Sept. 16 at Chicago’s Park West.
Though Prettyman hasn’t spent much time on the road, she’s used
her short road experience as a two-year touring crash course. She’s
already spent time on the road in support of popular acts including G Love
& Special Sauce and Jason Mraz and plenty of other high-profile tours
should soon hit the books.
Prettyman’s strong, subdued vocals ring to the tune of an upbeat Fiona
Apple, through acoustic melodies on “Twentythree” tracks “Always
Feel This Way,” “Breathe,” “Electric” and “Love
Love Love.” Jason Mraz also lends his vocal talents to the slow, winding
“Shy That Way,” which is sure to garner the attention of fans
worldwide.
Fans of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Rachael Yamagata and many other mellow acoustic
guitar-driven recording artists will enjoy the simple, quiet sounds of Tristan
Prettyman’s “Twentythree,” and album that is sure to relax
and be a welcomed addition to any summer beach party.
Park West is at 322 W. Armitage Ave. Tickets for this 18+ show are listed
for $15 each with showtime slated for 8 p.m. Also schedule to perform is the
John Butler Trio. For more information on Tristan Prettyman log on to www.tristanprettyman.com.
