Wolfmother
Prepares to Claw Riviera Theatre
By Randy J. Klodz
Straight from Australia, hard-rock band Wolfmother is winning over U.S. fans
with head-bobbing rock and high-energy live performances. Chicago fans can see
what everybody is talking about when Wolfmother invades Riviera Theatre on Nov.
25.
Wolfmother--which includes Andrew Stockdale (vocals, guitar), Chris Ross (bass,
keyboards) and Myles Heskett (drums)--is on tour in support of its hit self-titled
album.
From the album, the hard-hitting “Woman” became an instant radio
hit and has sent the band on sold-out tours worldwide. Also, the song “Love
Train” has become a fan favorite, so much so that a portion of the song
can be heard on TV commercials for Apple’s infamous iPod device.
Wolfmother was also a crowd favorite at this summer’s installation of
Lollapalooza. Though the fans enjoyed the performance, former Faith No More
frontman Mike Patton voiced his displeasure of Wolfmother’s music while
being interviewed at Lollapalooza just as Andrew Stockdale got the band’s
set rolling. Hey, music tastes differ from person to person.
Other songs like “Apple Tree” “Dimension,” “Joker
& the Thief,” “Mind’s Eye” and “Pyramid”
will keep the head nodding of any hard-rock or alternative-rock fan.
Riviera Theatre is at 4746 N. Racine Ave. Tickets for this all-ages show are
listed for $20 each with showtime slated for 7:30 p.m. For more on Wolfmother
